New Preparatory School Staff 2009

HEAD OF THE LW PARRY PREPARATORY SCHOOL
Mr Richard Wright BA(Curtin), GradDipEd(Primary)(ECU), MEd(UWA) has been appointed to the Executive position of Head of the LW Parry Preparatory School, effective 1 January 2009. Previously the Head of Primary at John Wollaston Anglican Community School (2006 - 08), Richard has also worked as the Deputy Head of the Junior School at PLC (2005).

TEACHERS
Mrs Didi Caddy
and Mrs Nicky Iffla have been appointed to a part time position of Year 1 teacher in the Prep School. Didi has worked at Presbyterian Ladies’ College and Nedlands Primary School as an early childhood teacher. She has a personal interest in art and the development of creativity in young children. Nicky is passionate about teaching children in the developmental stage of Year 1 and is looking forward to this year at Christ Church.

Ms Chantal Hockey BA(UWA), GradDipEd(Murdoch) has been appointed to the temporary position of Classroom Teacher in the Prep School for 2009. Chantal has worked in a number of regional primary schools, teaching all grades. She has a collaborative and flexible approach toward student centred learning and has demonstrated her ongoing support for school priorities and community programmes involving all learning areas including IT, Arts and Physical Education.

Mr Brady Leckie BEd(ECU) has been appointed to the position of Physical Education teacher and Sports Co-ordinator in the Prep School, effective 1 January 2009. Brady will be responsible for teaching students in Years 4 - 7. For the past four years, Brady has been Head of Loreto Nedlands Physical Education and Sports Programme, creating a programme that has variety, is dynamic, inclusive and a significant part of the Loreto Nedlands education.

Mrs Kim Malajczuk BAppSci (RMIT) has been appointed to a part time position in the Prep School teaching Physical Education to boys in Pre-Primary - Year 3 classes. Kim has been teaching Physical Education at Newman College.

Mr Jay Pyefinch BEd(ECU) has been appointed to a temporary position in the Prep School, effective 1 January 2009. An old boy of Christ Church (1992), Jay will teach students in Years 4 - 7. Jay believes that as an educator he has a responsibility to nurture students creativity through critical thinking, problem-solving, subject integration and positive working relationships.

Mr David Seggie (Curtin), has been appointed to the temporary position as Classroom Teacher in the Prep School. This role is effective 1 January to 31 December 2009. A CCGS old boy (2004) and newly graduated from Curtin University, David is enthusiastic about joining Christ Church. He believes that education is about developing and David is keen to see students nurtured and given opportunities to work and to achieve their full potential.


PETER MOYES CENTRE
Mr Wayne Revitt BA(UWA), GradDipEd(ECU), BEd(James Cook) has been appointed to the position of Co-ordinator of the Peter Moyes Centre (Prep School), effective from 1 January 2009. Wayne’s previous role with AISWA as an Inclusive Education Consultant has provided him with the opportunity to learn from many dedicated teachers across a wide range of schools, each with different educational and religious philosophies. He is interested in student well-being and in particular the great importance of early learning through evidence based, preventative, social-emotional learning programmes.
