Chilli Con Carne and Chocolate

It was all about sombreros and chocolate on Tuesday night when the Christ Church and Methodist Ladies’ College residential communities enjoyed a dinner swap on both campuses.

Year 11 and 12 students donned sombreros and moustaches for a Mexican dinner in the MLC dining hall, where the social scene was fantastic amid the abundance of Mexican food.

Meanwhile at Christ Church’s dining hall, Sandover, Year 6 to 10 boarders played games and did various activities for a lively chocolate-themed dinner, complete with a chocolate fountain.

Both dinners were a huge success, enjoyed by students and staff alike.

Christ Church Residential Community Director Shane McGurk said dinner swaps generally took place every term with either St Hilda’s or MLC. “They offer a great social aspect for the boys and girls,” Mr McGurk said. “And they also provide a change from the usual dinner format.”

Year 12 boarders are now looking forward to a dinner at Scotch College next term. The dinner will be attended by more than 300 Year 12 boarders from all the Independent Schools.
