Face Painting Surprise BBQ A Big Hit
Boarding students were treated to an unexpected face painting and fairy floss evening at their regular Tuesday night barbeque last week. The event was an entertaining way to begin the first school week of the year in the Residential Community.
Boarders of all year levels sported various characters throughout the evening and Senior Prefect Tom Watts, who was dressed as Spiderman, was also involved.
It was a fun, well-received activity for the boys and a successful "ice breaker" for their first week at School, Director of the Residential Community Shane McGurk said.
"It is important to have low key activities that get the boys to relax and to share an experience," he said, "Some boys did not have time, or did not want to, get their face painted, but all seemed to enjoy what was being created, and to share in the fun. We try to do these type of events on a regular basis - the key is to keep them novel and have a bit of a surprise aspect to them."
The face painting was organised with the assistance of the Residential Community and Colin Harrison, Alliance Catering Manager. For further information about the face painting, please visit www.rosieofacepainter.com.au
