Football
The Senior School Football programme at Christ Church Grammar School aims to create an environment which promotes the key values of teamwork, sportsmanship and, most importantly, enjoyment of the game at all levels.
Boys are given every opportunity to do their best and to make a meaningful contribution to the team. Learning to play for the team and supporting each other at all times are crucial components as we collectively strive to be successful.
Not only do the coaches at Christ Church want to see the boys involved and having fun, they also want to challenge them to keep improving their skills, fitness levels, and knowledge of the game. Therefore it is important that CCGS footballers are committed to training, respect and listening carefully to their coaches. Christ Church has a very experienced and passionate team of coaches so acting on advice in a proactive and responsible fashion is expected, especially as learning the game is an ongoing process.
The School would like every footballer to feel a part of a ‘club atmosphere’ and we will endeavor to create a stronger spirit and connection between respective teams throughout the season. We want to enhance the overall football experience for the boys and our senior players will be required to lead the way as role models for our lower school teams. Old boys, families and friends are also encouraged to share their passion and support for CCGS Football.
While the ultimate objective is to play 1st XVIII Football, all boys will be encouraged to put forward their best effort and enjoy the sport.
