Senior School Curriculum
The Christ Church Classroom
The Christ Church classroom is human, warm, comfortable and happy. It is physically and intellectually inspiring. Respect for teachers and students is paramount and there is an overwhelming sense of fairness and tolerance of individual difference.
Years 7 to 10
The Year 7 to 10 curriculum is based around the Learning Areas; The Arts, English, Mathematics, Science, LOTE (Languages Other than English), Technology and Enterprise, Society and Environment, Health and Physical Education. The curriculum is oriented to Outcome laid out in the WA Curriculum Framework.
Years 11 and 12
Years 11 and 12 represent what are often called the years of post-compulsory education. The student is now in charge of the course of study selected. This can be a wonderful opportunity to engage in learnings attuned to one's interests, but is also quite daunting if there are uncertainties about futures.
Academic Learning Areas
The academic learning areas include The Arts, Design and Technology, Health and Physical Education, Humanities, English, Information and Communication Technology, Languages, Mathematics, Sciences and the Senior Library.
Academic Extension
In Years 11 and 12 extension and mentoring are generally provided by the departments responsible for their individual subject studies and by the Head of House and House Tutor. Extension programmes are also offered to all year groups in several subject disciplines.
