Army Cadets demonstrate the art of fieldcraft
Our Army Cadet Unit were deployed to Bindoon Training Area over the recent weekend for their Term 2 field exercise. The focus of this field exercise was for the senior leadership group to plan, deliver orders and execute a number of tasks in a tactical manner. read more

Boys triumph at OzCLO
It has been another triumphant year for Christ Church boys and their participation of The Australian Computational and Linguistics Olympiad (OzCLO). This year, Christ Church had seven representing teams and fielded its first ever senior level team. read more

Making the most of sleep
There are a number of things that can interfere with your sleep, including a late/delayed body clock, stress/anxiety, feeling pressured to “do it all” and undervaluing sleep. During high school, around nine hours per night is recommended (but this varies from person to person). A few nights of poor sleep won’t be the end of the world, and there are individual differences in how much sleep we need. read more

Boys from Years 3 to 6 took part in the House Cross Country Carnival last week, earning points for their respective House with top runners earning bonus points for finishing within the top 10. read more
Ngalak Warangka – We sing
Our Year 3 and 4 boys got to a hopping start this week, participating in traditional and modern Noongar songs in the Chapel. The workshop, hosted by the Madjitil Moorna Choir, forms an introduction to Aboriginal culture as part of their Humanities and Music in Society classes. read more

All boys were invited to the Senior Library this week to meet visiting authors David Wish-Wilson and Sean Gorman, and to bear witness to the Senior Library’s ‘Great Derby Debate’. Army Cadets deliver an exemplary start
Our Army Cadet Unit have been keeping busy with a number of support activities in past months, including a recent guard and flag orderly for Dalkeith Primary School’s Anzac assembly. This was their sixth year of involvement and is now an annual fixture on the unit’s calendar. read more

WA da Vinci Decathlon 2017
Eight students in each Years 7 to 10 competed in the WA da Vinci Decathlon at Wesley College in late March. The da Vinci decathlon is an academic competition in which boys work together to complete tasks across 10 different disciplines. These include Mathematics, Science, English, Code Breaking, Art and Poetry, Cartography, General Knowledge, Creative Producers, Ideation and Engineering. read more

Harmony Day falls on 21 March each year. It celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity and is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. Our Year 4 boys had their very first experience of Kooringal at the end of March as part of the School’s comprehensive Outdoor Education program. New York, New York
Twenty-one boys from Years 9 to 12 will be heading across to the Big Apple next week as part of our popular Art Tour. This 17-day tour will include New York City via Hong Kong where each student will get to experience the authentic, contemporary cultural vibe that each city has to offer. read more
