The long weekend is important for many reasons. It provides an opportunity to have a well-earned break from the rigour of winter sport. For all boys it is time to take stock of where they are now and what lies ahead to achieve their goals. I strongly recommend all senior boys, particularly Year 12 boys, ensure their study plans for their final assessments and mock exams in the next five weeks are appropriate.
This afternoon many Year 12 boys in 1st teams will play their last winter sport game for Christ Church. The commitment shown by boys in all teams throughout the winter season has been outstanding and several codes have achieved significant success. My thanks go to all the coaches for their tireless efforts and parents and who have supported the boys from the sidelines throughout the season.
This morning boys in all Houses performed in the House Shout competition. This event provides a great opportunity for all boys to participate and is one of the most entertaining competitions on the school calendar. In what was another tight competition the victors were Craigie House singing ‘Happy’ a song made famous by Pharrell Williams and in a close second Jupp and their rendition of ‘All Star’ by Smash Mouth. See here for the winners video.
On Tuesday morning the School hosted a forum for Year 7 parents on Digital Devices and Learning Strategies. This was very well attended and was aimed at providing a better understanding of the benefits of digital learning and its management in the context of the home environment. The forum was videoed and can be found on the parent nexus page found here.
Finally, the mid-term break is a time to ensure everything is in order for the remainder of the term. An opportunity to clean the school bag out, get blazers dry-cleaned, polish the shoes and of course the hair will need a trim if it hasn’t been touched since the start of the term.
Enjoy the break.
