Over the mid-term break and concluding yesterday, artist James Giddy was hard at work painting a large-scale black swan mural to embody the essence of student wellbeing. This mural will serve as a visual representation of wellbeing initiatives at the School, fostering positive mental health practices while celebrating the School’s connection with our river environment. I encourage you to have a look when you are on campus next.

In the next couple of weeks, the Music Department are producing two significant events for the community. On Saturday 16 March between 5.30pm to 8.00pm the Chapel Forecourt will be filled with a variety of music genres, with something for everyone to enjoy. You are welcome to bring along a picnic with a blanket/chairs, or you can purchase some of the food and refreshments on sale at the event. This is a free, non-ticketed event so bring the family along for an evening of wonderful music performances. The following Friday evening, our Senior musicians and their counterparts from St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls will come together to present the annual Combined Concert in the Joy Shepherd Performing Arts Centre at St Hilda’s. Again, there will be array of musical performances, with this year’s theme  of ‘Around the World’. Tickets can be purchased here.

Student safety and traffic management around the School precinct are constant concerns for our community. All too often we have a spate of near misses involving students crossing major roads within the vicinity of the school. All students have received numerous requests and instructions on where and how to cross these roads in a safe manner. The school is very pleased to have the manned school crossing on Queenslea Drive for the students and the traffic lights to cross Stirling Highway. We continue to work with the local and state authorities to improve all aspects of road safety around the school.

Best of luck to all the students involved in the PSA Swimming Inters tonight. Tickets are limited to parents of swimmers and a small group of senior students who will be cheering loudly in the stands. For everyone at home, online you can watch the action live here.
