Last Friday we watched our athletes push themselves to achieve at their highest level. A couple of standout achievements went to Athletics Captain Massey Doolan (Year 12), who came in 1st place in Div A 400m and 200m, plus 1st place in the Open/U17 4 x 400m relay, and Fergus Khoo (Year 8) who broke the school record in the 1500m and 800m, plus the PSA record in the 800m. Congratulations to all students and to the coaches, on your dedication and hard work over the season.

As we head towards the end of term, there has been lots happening both on and off campus this week, with the Year 7 to Year 11 Eucharists, Service in Action tours to Looma and Marble Bar, Queenslea House OQD, and the final Year 9 Kooringal program. The Year 12 students have been busy preparing for their Trial Exams that commenced yesterday and conclude at the end of term. Arrangements for the final weeks of Year 12 leading up to their Celebration Day event on Tuesday 15 October and the Valedictory Day on Thursday 17 October will be outlined in the coming weeks.

A reminder that while at times students do need to be away from school for significant reasons (e.g bereavement in the family, illness, etc.), we encourage all parents not to take their sons out of school during term time, as this will undoubtedly disrupt the continuity of teaching, learning and assessment. In the case of a planned extended absence, we appreciate advance notice through contact with your son’s Head of House. This will enable appropriate planning and clarity around missed assessments and classroom work.
