The week that’s been
We have witnessed over the past week a gradual reduction in restrictions from the State Government, including the opening of some intra-state borders. In the Senior School we are continuing to practice social distancing, protected zones and requiring our students to sanitise their hands upon entry into a classroom to keep our staff, students and community staff.
It was great to see a gradual and measured return of Friday afternoon activities for our Senior School students, I am sure many boys welcomed the return of non-contact sports training and co-curricular activities. The Senior School Library is now open again after school for students, and I am enjoying the competitive matches amongst the Houses in the inaugural Rock/Paper/Scissor competition and Table Tennis matches, in addition to Round 2 House Arts. As we are limited to the number of students who can watch our Public Speaking and Debating, we are live streaming this into tutorials via BigBlueButton.
We are still committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. We continue to work with Child Wise to attain our accreditation in Child Safety, to ensure our school is a safe place for all children. I ask that if you haven’t already, to participate in our parental/carers survey regarding child safety, which can be accessed here.
Upcoming events
- Year 7 2021 Information Evening in the Chapel will be live streamed from 6.30pm on Tuesday 26 May.
I hope all our students and families are looking forward to the mid-term break next week, a mid-term break like no other. It is unfortunate that many events have been cancelled, but I encourage you all to use this time to reflect, be grateful and spend time with friends and family (within groups of 20) or explore parts of Western Australia you may not have visited before.
