This year we have maintained a focus on the amazing new Prep School build. Running in parallel, the School has also been working on projects such as the (installation) upgrade of CCTV and solar panels.
With student safety and welfare at the forefront of the School’s priorities, next week we complete the upgrade of our CCTV network that will enhance the security of our students. Surveillance cameras in schools add a level of security to any premises that cannot be substituted. The School also recently completed a 28 week project that saw 2047 solar panels fitted to the roof of campus building, resulting in the largest and most efficient solar powered system ever fitted on an Australian school. The 670 kilowatt solar photovoltaic system is expected to deliver significant financial benefits and reduce the School’s carbon footprint and CO2 emissions.
I often speak about the extremely positive relationship the School has with the Parents’ and Old Boys’ Associations. The Parents’ Association serves the needs of the parents of the School as well as the School itself by providing a wide range of support, including grants, capital projects and guest speakers. We have an enviable reputation as a warm and friendly school for boys and parents, and for the latter this is dependent on the willingness of parents to be involved. It is the actions of all members of our community that create the sense of connection and I want to extend my thanks to the past Parents’ Association members who are stepping down and extend a warm welcome to the new members commencing this month who will continue the good work.
Congratulations to everyone involved with the production of Peter Pan. It was a huge success and absolute delight for those who attended. Into the Woods will be the next opportunity to enjoy a Midnite drama production, and you can book tickets here. To our talented musicians who took the opportunity to perform at Mojos Bar on the weekend, you did a fantastic job and it was such an enjoyable afternoon for everyone who attended.
