- Kindergarten to Year 1 parent/teacher interviews today
This week we have experienced first-hand how therapeutic animals can be, with the introduction of some beautiful baby chicks in the PMC. It was moving to watch the process of the little chickens hatching and struggling to get out of their egg. The boys experienced great joy and calm; caring and engaging with these baby animals. It quickly became clear that this was more than just an educational activity, as we noticed that since the introduction of the little chicks, the Peter Moyes Centre has functioned as a hub of activity. It has been a great opportunity for boys across the whole school to come together, learn new things about the chickens, the PMC and build new friendships. The students in the PMC were proud to invite their peers and give them a tour of an important part of Christ Church. The little chicks are here for one more week, so please feel free to encourage your sons to come and visit.
The Year 4 Speakers’ Challenge took place on Wednesday in the Chapel in front of the Years 3 and 4 cohorts. Two boys from each class were selected to deliver their speeches to determine who would represent Christ Church Grammar School at the IPSHA Junior Speakers’ Challenge in Term 3. Topics ranged from ‘Black Holes’ to ‘Pokemon’, with the audience being entertained, informed or persuaded by an outstanding standard of public speaking skills. The adjudicators were challenged with selecting two finalists and a reserve. Congratulations goes to all participants and well done to Noah Harnwell (4SO) and Vihaan Kumar (4SO), who will represent Christ Church with Ari Crosland (4TR) as a reserve.
Our Kindy boys experienced the annual event of going on their Teddy Bear picnic. Both classes had an enjoyable time together on the lawns outside Walters Residence. It was great to see the boys enjoy each other’s company and perform a terrific rendition of that very famous song!
A reminder to all families that parent teacher interviews commence today with our Kindergarten, Pre-Primary and Year 1 classes. Remaining year levels will take place next week. Please refer to the email sent to all families regarding booking your interview, online via Teams meeting and parking.
Congratulations to this week’s Building Good Men Awards recipients.
