Week 7 is a busy week in the Preparatory School. House Shout rehearsals have begun with all students from Years 3 to 6 preparing for the singing competition which takes place in Week 10. Each house has chosen their song, and the boys are starting to memorise the lyrics before adding choreography and any instrumental accompaniments. House Shout is one of the highlights of the school calendar and points from the competition are added to the race for The Giles Shield.

Father’s Day is approaching, and the Year 6 boys had the opportunity to eat with their Dad or significant other, this morning in the Sandover Dining Hall. Guests were treated to a presentation from the Director of the Wynne Centre for Health and Wellbeing, Mr Brad Gardner. Mr Gardner talked about the boy’s transition to the Senior School and how fathers can support this process. The group then moved off to some activities in the students’ classrooms to conclude the event.

Our Health and Well Being Resource, SchoolTV, has published some interesting articles on Respectful Relationships and how schools can create a community that centres around positive interactions, understanding and empathy. If you are interested in reading these articles, please click here.

ICAS Testing has concluded for 2023 and Mathematics has been the most popular assessment for boys to participate in with 160 boys challenging themselves with some very complex problems requiring solutions. Well done to all the students who participated this year. All boys will be recognised with certificates and those who achieved a distinction or high distinction will be recognised at our Awards Assembly in Term 4.

Tomorrow parents of students in Years 3 and 6 will receive an invitation to complete the annual MMG survey. This survey invites parents to provide feedback relating to their views of the School across a wide range of areas. Please look out for the invitation and provide us with your thoughts as this feedback assists the School with continuous improvement.

Enjoy the week and happy Father’s Day!
