Christmas Nativity Service

Well done to all students for successfully completing their Orientation Day last Friday. The Preparatory School was abuzz with energy and anticipation for the year that lies ahead. We welcomed 81 new students into the Preparatory School and provided all boys with an opportunity to meet their teacher and classmates for the 2025 Academic Year. Our Year 6 students enjoyed getting to know which House they will be in and familiarising themselves with life in the Senior School for next year.

Whilst we are drawing close to the end of the school year, our teachers are gearing up for some significant events in the Preparatory School. Tomorrow is the Final Assembly and Prize Giving where we recognise the achievements of students from Years 3 to 6. These awards will highlight different academic achievements of our students and will also acknowledge boys who have contributed to the positive culture of our school.

Next Friday, we will bid farewell to our Year 6 students as they transition to the Senior School across the oval. They will be warmly welcomed by Mr Mark Morrissy, Head of Senior School. Following the boys’ farewell through a guard of honour, families are invited to enjoy a morning tea in celebration of this special milestone.

Monday 2 December will see our boys take part in Activity Day and our House Christmas Lunches. This day is a celebration of the school year and a chance for students to have fun with their friends and teachers. Teachers plan different activities throughout the day and the boys get a chance to cool off in the pool. Activity Day is always one of the highlights of the year.

Finally, we end the school year on Tuesday 3 December with our Christmas Nativity Service, presented by our youngest students. The boys never fail to impress us with their bravery to get up on stage and sing Christmas Carols in front of the entire school. We look forward to seeing many families at the Service to end what has been a successful 2024 in the Preparatory School.

The Christ Church Grammar School Parents’ Association is seeking volunteers to become a Year Group Parent Representative for 2025. This is a wonderful way to get involved in the school community and foster connections with other families. The primary role of the Year Group Parent Representative is to organise social events for parents and families within their year group and to volunteer for other Parents’ Association events occasionally. Reverend Russell has begun monthly family services held at Christ Church Claremont (the church on the corner of Stirling Highway and Queenslea Drive) for Christ Church Grammar School families and the general public. This is a service designed to be enjoyed by children and youth, but attendees of all ages are welcome. It is a simple and interactive 45-minute service of Holy Communion. Families are welcome to stay afterwards for tasty treats in the hall.

BRICKS 4 KIDZ Summer School Holiday Workshops

This Summer School Holidays, BRICKS 4 KIDZ is offering exciting Workshops featuring LEGO® and Robotics Coding! Designed for children aged 5–12, the holiday programs are packed with a variety of fun and engaging themes that spark creativity and inspire learning.

The Summer Holiday Workshops are located at the following locations:

Baptism and Confirmation

Next year, Christ Church will be holding a service of baptism and confirmation. This will occur on Saturday 26 July 2025 at 5.00pm in the School Chapel. Any students, parents or staff interested in either being baptised and/or confirmed at the service are welcome to be involved. The service is also open to siblings of Christ Church students and future students. Preparation sessions will begin during Term 1 2025. Our Christmas Eve service will be held in the School Chapel at 5.00pm and is a children and family-friendly service that includes classic carols, Holy Communion, a nativity play and a child-friendly homily. All are welcome to attend.

We are currently seeking actors for the nativity play. This could be Christ Church students, or their siblings or friends. This is a simple, relaxed and enjoyable play suitable for all ages. Most parts will be minimal or no lines to memorise. Actors will provide their own costumes. There will be one rehearsal for this on Christmas Eve at 3.30pm. The Uniform Shop will be closed for general trading from Monday 11 November until the end of Term 4. During this time the Uniform Shop will conduct new student uniform fitting appointments. Online orders via MSA will remain available and can still be collected from the Uniform Shop.

Prices reduced on current sport uniform

From Monday 28 October, selected items of the current sport uniform will be available at a reduced in price. Please see a list of the reduced items here. We recommend visiting the Uniform Shop as sizes in some of these items are limited and, with the exception of sport shorts and track jackets, won’t be available online.

Baptism and Confirmation

Next year, Christ Church will be holding a service of baptism and confirmation. This will occur on Saturday 26 July 2025 at 5.00pm in the School Chapel. Any students, parents or staff interested in either being baptised and/or confirmed at the service are welcome to be involved. The service is also open to siblings of Christ Church students and future students. Preparation sessions will begin during Term 1 2025. Our popular Christ Church Grammar School Christmas celebration is on again! Our Christmas Eve service will be held in the School Chapel at 5.00pm and is a children and family-friendly service that includes classic carols, Holy Communion, a nativity play and a child-friendly homily. All are welcome to attend.

We are currently seeking actors for the nativity play. This could be Christ Church students, or their siblings or friends. This is a simple, relaxed and enjoyable play suitable for all ages. Most parts will be minimal or no lines to memorise. Actors will provide their own costumes. There will be one rehearsal for this on Christmas Eve at 3.30pm. The Year 2 boys will have activities provided by Kidz ‘n Sport, followed by pizza, drink boxes and icypoles. Siblings will not be able to participate in the Kidz ‘n Sport activity, but are welcome to use the playground and can have a sibling ticket which also provides them with pizza, drink box and an icypole.

Refreshed Physical Education and Sport Uniform

Earlier this year, Principal Alan Jones announced a refreshed Physical Education and Sport Uniform for Preparatory and Senior School students. The refreshed Physical Education and Sport Uniform will be available for purchase from the Uniform Shop in Term 1, 2025. There will be a three-year transition period in which students can wear either the refreshed or existing Physical Education and Sport Uniform. All new boys in the Preparatory and Senior School for 2025 are expected to wear the refreshed Physical Education and Sport Uniform. All current students are expected to be wearing the refreshed Physical Education and Sport Uniform by the beginning of the 2028 school year.

This is a wonderful way to get involved in the school community and foster connections with other families. This is a service designed to be enjoyed by children and youth, but attendees of all ages are welcome. It is a simple and interactive 45-minute service of Holy Communion. Families are welcome to stay afterwards for tasty treats in the hall.

The Music Department is delighted to offer fourteen music bursaries each year on selected instruments to boys in Years 5 or 6 in 2025 who have shown enthusiasm, willingness to learn and dedication in classroom music lessons. As an initiative to raise the profile and build the music program, each bursary student will contribute to one or more music club or ensembles throughout their Preparatory and Senior schooling. Bike Education Program

Beginning in Week 6 and ending in Week 8, all Year 5 students will participate in a Bike Education and Cycle Skills program as part of their regular PE sessions.

The aim of the program is to equip students with the skills, confidence, and experience to ride a bike safely.

Students are required to bring their own bikes and helmets to school for this program. Bikes can be securely locked in the designated bike racks located behind the Preparatory School.

Please note, the School will not be able to provide any bikes.

The Stationery List for Year 7 2025 can be found here. We have recently been informed that the Casio fx-100AU Plus scientific calculator, on the stationery list, is no longer in production. If your child already has this model, they may continue to use it next year. However, if you need to purchase a new scientific calculator, we recommend the Casio fx-82AU, available at Officeworks.

Baptism and Confirmation

Next year, Christ Church will be holding a service of baptism and confirmation. This will occur on Saturday 26 July 2025 at 5.00pm in the School Chapel. Any students, parents or staff interested in either being baptised and/or confirmed at the service are welcome to be involved. The service is also open to siblings of Christ Church students and future students. Preparation sessions will begin during Term 1 2025. Our popular Christ Church Grammar School Christmas celebration is on again! Our Christmas Eve service will be held in the School Chapel at 5.00pm and is a children and family-friendly service that includes classic carols, Holy Communion, a nativity play and a child-friendly homily. All are welcome to attend.

We are currently seeking actors for the nativity play. This could be Christ Church students, or their siblings or friends. This is a simple, relaxed and enjoyable play suitable for all ages. Most parts will be minimal or no lines to memorise. Actors will provide their own costumes. There will be one rehearsal for this on Christmas Eve at 3.30pm. The Uniform Shop will be closed for general trading from Monday 11 November until the end of Term 4. During this time the Uniform Shop will conduct new student uniform fitting appointments. Online orders via MSA will remain available and can still be collected from the Uniform Shop.

ATARget January Preparation Program

These group sessions aim to prepare students for the new academic year before the commencement of school in February. The subject specific classes offer students a revision of those difficult concepts from the 2024 syllabus which later become the foundation for the new work they will encounter in the new year. They also offer students a ‘window’ into the units they will encounter in Term 1, 2025. Students in Years 7 will also be coached on how to successfully tackle their NAPLAN assessments that are scheduled for March 2025. The program also offers a six-hour Transition Skills program. Earlier this year, Principal Alan Jones announced a refreshed Physical Education and Sport Uniform for Preparatory and Senior School students. The refreshed Physical Education and Sport Uniform will be available for purchase from the Uniform Shop in Term 1, 2025. There will be a three-year transition period in which students can wear either the refreshed or existing Physical Education and Sport Uniform. All new boys in the Preparatory and Senior School for 2025 are expected to wear the refreshed Physical Education and Sport Uniform. All current students are expected to be wearing the refreshed Physical Education and Sport Uniform by the beginning of the 2028 school year.

The Christ Church Grammar School Parents’ Association is seeking volunteers to become a Year Group Parent Representative for 2025. This is a wonderful way to get involved in the school community and foster connections with other families. The primary role of the Year Group Parent Representative is to organise social events for parents and families within their year group and to volunteer for other Parents’ Association events occasionally. This is a service designed to be enjoyed by children and youth, but attendees of all ages are welcome. It is a simple and interactive 45-minute service of Holy Communion. Families are welcome to stay afterwards for tasty treats in the hall.

Saturday Family Service

Reverend Russell has begun monthly family services held at Christ Church Claremont (the church on the corner of Stirling Highway and Queenslea Drive) for Christ Church Grammar School families and the general public. This is a service designed to be enjoyed by children and youth, but attendees of all ages are welcome. It is a simple and interactive 45-minute service of Holy Communion. Families are welcome to stay afterwards for tasty treats in the hall.

On Tuesday 3 December (the end of Term 4), the shared Christ Church and MLC buses will depart from their respective bus bays at 1.00pm. Our popular Christ Church Grammar School Christmas celebration is on again! Our Christmas Eve service will be held in the chapel at 5.00pm and is a children and family-friendly service that includes classic carols, Holy Communion, a nativity play and a child-friendly homily. Stationery Year 11 2025

The Stationery List for Year 11 2025 can be found here. We have recently been informed that the Casio fx-100AU Plus scientific calculator, on the stationery list, is no longer in production. If your child already has this model, they may continue to use it next year. However, if you need to purchase a new scientific calculator, we recommend the Casio fx-82AU, available at Officeworks.

Term 4 reports

Reports for Term 4 will be made available in the week ending 13 December. The reports will be uploaded to Nexus and parents will be notified by email when these are ready.

Baptism and Confirmation

Next year, Christ Church will be holding a service of baptism and confirmation. This will occur on Saturday 26 July 2025 at 5.00pm in the School Chapel. Any students, parents or staff interested in either being baptised and/or confirmed at the service are welcome to be involved. The service is also open to siblings of Christ Church students and future students. Preparation sessions will begin during Term 1 2025. Uniform Shop closure

The Uniform Shop will be closed for general trading from Monday 11 November until the end of Term 4. During this time the Uniform Shop will conduct new student uniform fitting appointments. Online orders via MSA will remain available and can still be collected from the Uniform Shop.

ATARget January Preparation Program

These group sessions aim to prepare students for the new academic year before the commencement of school in February. The subject specific classes offer students a revision of those difficult concepts from the 2024 syllabus which later become the foundation for the new work they will encounter in the new year. They also offer students a ‘window’ into the units and learning areas they will encounter in Term 1, 2025. The program also offers a six-hour Study Skills and a six-hour Essay Writing class. Prices reduced on current sport uniform

From Monday 28 October, selected items of the current sport uniform will be available at a reduced in price. Please see a list of the reduced items here. We recommend visiting the Uniform Shop as sizes in some of these items are limited and, with the exception of sport shorts and track jackets, won’t be available online.

Parents with iiNet, Westnet, or TPG email addresses

If you have listed your contact email in your Consent2Go profile with an iiNet, Westnet, or TPG email address, you may not be receiving communications from the School about your son. Due to recent updates by TPG, existing users must pay to use their associated email address, otherwise they must switch to another email provider.

Refreshed Physical Education and Sport Uniform

Earlier this year, Principal Alan Jones announced a refreshed Physical Education and Sport Uniform for Preparatory and Senior School students. The refreshed Physical Education and Sport Uniform will be available for purchase from the Uniform Shop in Term 1, 2025. There will be a three-year transition period in which students can wear either the refreshed or existing Physical Education and Sport Uniform. All new boys in the Preparatory and Senior School for 2025 are expected to wear the refreshed Physical Education and Sport Uniform. All current students are expected to be wearing the refreshed Physical Education and Sport Uniform by the beginning of the 2028 school year.

Year Group Parent Representatives for 2025

The Christ Church Grammar School Parents’ Association is seeking volunteers to become a Year Group Parent Representative for 2025. This is a wonderful way to get involved in the school community and foster connections with other families. The primary role of the Year Group Parent Representative is to organise social events for parents and families within their year group and to volunteer for other Parents’ Association events occasionally. Year 12 Proof of ID Letters

Proof of ID letters required for Year 12s to book Leavers’ accommodation have been uploaded to Nexus. We suggest that your son also keeps a copy of this letter on his phone as proof that he is a School Leaver.

University Early Offers

Please note that Early Offers may be subject to conditions (eg: achievement of WACE, English competence, prerequisites, and reaching a specified ATAR) which must be satisfied before the offers are confirmed in the December offer round.

TISC have provided information on early offers, available here.

TISC also wants to reassure students that, even if they request, receive and accept an early offer, they are free to change their mind at any time before the major offer rounds in December and January. It is important that students realise that the TISC system is designed to help them keep their options open as long as possible, should they wish to do so.

Access to Nexus parent portal after 2024

We would like to advise parents that access to academic records on Nexus will cease towards the end of this year. We would therefore recommend that parents and boys take this opportunity to download and save copies of previous school reports and other records for future use.
