- CIS community survey
Last Friday night I attended the Annual Design and Technology Exhibition and enjoyed viewing the work of our extremely talented students. The final product, be it with metal, wood or perhaps a boy’s original design, is a reflection of our dedicated teachers who set challenging tasks and the vision and skill of our boys who then deliver these amazing works.
The Rock Workshop performance at Mojos Bar in Fremantle on Sunday was a great success with the boys playing original music and some of their favourites. If you haven’t been to this event, I would recommend it for next year – the boys really love the opportunity to play at this venue and their talent and energy is always fantastic.
I am off to Venture tomorrow morning, ready to join our Year 10 boys as they embrace their 11 day journey through the Walpole-Nornalup National Park. The boys will canoe and trek and also raft around the Broke Inlet. This is the 27th year of Venture, our rites of passage for Year 10 boys, and it is an excellent time for the boys to experience real challenges and develop grit as they problem solve in an ever-changing and pretty demanding environment.
We are currently planning a number of new events for 2018, a bike ride from St John’s Wood, a community picnic and also a breakfast with a special guest speaker. I look forward to sharing more details about these events as the planning progresses.
Last week, in partnership with CIS, a survey was issued to members of our community. Responses to this survey will assist the School as we progress towards accreditation with the Council of International Schools. Thank you to those who have taken the time to provide their opinions, I appreciate your input.
