Our History and Endowment Fund
Our history
We are all Christ Church
Canon McClemans’ vision in 1910 was to build a school for boys, his determination has resulted in one of the finest schools in the country. Christ Church’s landscape may have changed over time, but the Canon’s legacy of providing an open entry school, guided by strong Christian values of compassion, empathy and benevolence have remained true.
Through the support of our community of donors we have been able to offer boys from diverse backgrounds the highly regarded opportunity to become Christ Church Grammar School boys.
Our Building Fund enables us to build and refresh learning spaces to keep pace with the changing ways in which we teach boys. Our generous donor community is made up of parents, grandparents and alumni, as well as students, staff and international friends around the globe.
Your gift to one of our important priorities will make a difference and help us to continue the ambitious vision of our founder Canon McClemans as we look to build a school for future generations to enjoy.
Foundation Endowment Fund
Securing our future
The Christ Church Grammar School Foundation (Inc.) was established in 1985 to assist the School Council to secure the School’s independence and maintain and develop its facilities in the broadest sense, from the maintenance and construction of buildings to providing financial assistance for teaching and learning to enhance our boys’ educational experience.
A Board of Trustees manages the Foundation and the Foundation Endowment Fund and acts in consultation with the Principal and the School Council. The Endowment Fund derives its income from enrolment contributions paid by families entering the School and returns earned on its investments. The aim of the Fund is to give the School a strong, permanent financial base and security for our future.
