The Walters Residential Community

Nestled on the banks of the Swan River and adjacent to the School Chapel, Walters Residential Boarding House is a modern, spacious facility with well-defined and dedicated living, sleeping, study and recreation spaces for students. It is also home to the Director of Boarding, his family, and our four boarding Co-ordinators and their families.

Our boarders in Years 7 and 8 sleep in shared rooms in a comfortable and personalised space that includes king single beds, storage, and wardrobes. All bathrooms are shared and well-appointed. A dedicated kitchenette and TV area is the common space, bringing the students together to relax and connect. Our youngest boarders are supported by four Year 11 mentors and two Housemothers.

As students move into Years 9 and 10, they have quad rooms, while Year 11 students enjoy double rooms, and Year 12 students have single rooms. Year 12 students also have access to their own kitchen and recreation space. There are two Housemothers to support boarders in Years 9 to 12.

Inside Walters House, the recreational spaces are fitted out with two ping pong tables, three pool tables, and plenty of lounges where the boys can enjoy a game of chess and other board games. Outside are basketball courts, and the students have access to the School gym, ovals, pool and the River Precinct where they can use the stand-up paddleboards.

Prep or homework is held in the evenings during the school week and is supervised. Students can choose to work in the boarding precinct or in the Academic Resource Centre (ARC) where they have access to a wealth of resources and ICT for assignments and projects.

At Christ Church we offer a nurturing and inspiring home away from home, where every detail has been considered to ensure the students feel safe, comfortable and supported.
