Autism Awareness and Acceptance Day
Published on: 6 April 2023
In Week 10 of Term 1 we celebrated Autism Awareness and Acceptance Day. This is a particularly important event for our school as it recognises and supports our Neurodivergent students. The School was transformed into a sea of colours, with all students and staff in the Preparatory School community encouraged to wear a multicoloured tie and the Senior School community multicoloured socks. Christ Church is an inclusive school where all our boys and their achievements are celebrated equally within the community.
Last week Year 12 and Peter Moyes Centre student Finn Buxton spoke to the boys about his experience with autism and how neurotypical people can help to create a safer, and more comfortable environment for neurodivergent people to thrive in. This short video captures Finn speaking about his experiences.
