After more than 20 years as the Head Swimming Coach, Bill Kirby will be stepping down at the end of the year.
Bill will remain at Christ Church Grammar School as the Manager of the joint Aquatic Centre and will be a mentor to new coaches.
An Olympic Gold Medallist and Christ Church old boy, Bill’s experience in the pool and passion for the sport has had an invaluable impact on the success of the School’s swimming program.
In his time as Head Swimming Coach, Christ Church Grammar School has won 12 PSA Swimming Championships and thousands of students have learnt an important life skill, which they will carry with them their entire lives.
Principal Alan Jones said Bill has been more than a coach, he has been an exceptional educator and a mentor to many students during his time at Christ Church.
“His humility, care for others and the ability to build authentic relationships has enabled him to get the best out of students and make them believe in themselves,” he said.
“Christ Church is certainly the beneficiary of having had 20 exceptional years with Bill Kirby.
“We thank Bill for his enormous contribution to the Christ Church community and wish him all the best with his future endeavours.”
