Last week, the School hosted its eagerly awaited Orientation Day, a memorable event for incoming students and their families. It provided a wonderful opportunity for new students to meet their peers, explore the campus, and begin building meaningful connections before starting with us next year.

In the Preparatory School, 81 excited students experienced their first taste of life at Christ Church. Welcomed by their 2025 teachers and classmates, they were introduced to the campus and its vibrant learning spaces. The day was filled with engaging activities, such as t-shirt making, treasure hunts, sports, and specialist lessons – each designed to help the boys settle in and have fun.

Meanwhile, in the Senior School, 100 new students joined our current Year 6 cohort for a glimpse of life as a Year 7 student. The morning began with an informative session for parents in the Chapel, followed by a morning tea hosted by the Parents’ Association. Afterwards, the incoming Year 7 students were warmly welcomed into their new Houses by Senior School students and staff before embarking on a guided campus tour. Throughout the day, they took part in enjoyable physical education activities and had plenty of opportunities to bond with their new classmates. Our new boarders enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon of games on the oval, followed by a delicious BBQ. The day continued with a visit to Bounce, before concluding with a sleepover at the Walters Boarding House.

Todd Harnwell, Director of Boarding, shared, “It was fantastic to witness the strong bonds forming between these boys in such a short time, which was undoubtedly aided by the connections they made during our online On-Board transition sessions throughout the year.”
