Final week celebrations for the Class of 2024
Published on: 24 October 2024
Last week, our Year 12 students celebrated their final week of high school with a series of memorable events to recognise their years of hard work.
Celebration Day marked the end of their formal education at Christ Church, as the cohort gathered at Mount Claremont playing fields. The event featured activities such as waterslides, inflatable soccer, and sumo wrestling. It provides a chance for them to relax during a stressful time, create lasting memories with friends, and balance long days of studying with fun.
The Final Assembly and Prize Giving was a significant moment for the cohort, shared by their Senior School peers, faculty, families, and special guests. This ceremony not only recognised the achievements of the Class of 2024 but also served as an inspiration for younger students. As they applaud their older peers for academic performance, leadership, and community involvement awards, they realise the importance of dedicating their time to studies, service, and personal growth to develop the skills required to lead others. This is a perfect example of our ethos of ‘boys teaching boys’ – through modelling positive behaviours and acting as role models for other students.
The celebrations culminated with the Valedictory Dinner, a true highlight of the week. Captain of School, Jeremiah Wang, delivered heartfelt remarks celebrating the journey of the graduating class, followed by a lively performance by some of our Year 12 musicians, providing a fitting conclusion to the formalities.
Congratulations to our Class of 2024 for their outstanding achievements to date. There is much to be proud of as they embark on the next stage of their lives. We wish them the best for their exams and future endeavours.
