The First Water Polo team emerged victorious at the Trans-Tasman Cup in Sydney, delivering an incredible performance to claim the championship title in December.

In a thrilling gold medal match, the team secured a hard-fought 10-8 victory over Newington College. The closely contested game highlighted the students’ skill, determination, and teamwork.

“This win reflects the commitment and passion of these athletes,” said Head Coach Scott Chrystal. “The Trans-Tasman was a major goal for us, something we’ve worked towards for six months. Competing against the top school teams from Australia and New Zealand was a huge challenge, and to come away with gold is a dream come true.”

Team captain Ivan Zorotovic, who was named Tournament MVP, played a pivotal role in the team’s success, demonstrating outstanding leadership throughout the tournament.

The team’s victory at the Trans-Tasman Cup sets a new benchmark, reinforcing their reputation as a powerhouse in the sport. This momentum will drive them through the rest of the PSA season as they set their sights on the Dickinson Shield.
