Year 7 student and Firsts Tennis player Zachary Viiala is off to France later this month to represent Australia in the Longines Future Tennis Aces Tournament where he will face off against other elite players from across the globe.
Zachary, the only boy selected from Australia along with another female contestant from Brisbane, are part of 20 boys and girls selected for the global tournament which opens with a court match at the base of the iconic Eiffel Tower.
“Last year Zach won the National Clay Court 12 and under Tournament and to be Australia’s current no.1 Under 13s Junior player, I am unbelievably proud,” says Zachary’s mother,” Sharan Dogra.
“He has been self-driven in this sport since the age of six and showed a passion for tennis as early as the age of three.”
On top of studies at Christ Church, Zachary’s weekly program includes 15 hours of tennis training before and after school with former Australian Tennis Coach of the Year and current Tennis Australia Platinum National Talent Development Coach, John Thorpe.
