Brodie Wicks (Year 11) is arguably the fastest boy at Christ Church after winning the CCGS Gift – once again!
The Gift is a 100-metre handicapped sprint race, modelled on the iconic Stawell Gift, one of the world’s most famous and prestigious foot races.
Featuring the School’s fastest 100-metre sprinters from Years 5 to 12, the final results were:
1st place – Brodie Wicks (Year 11)
2nd place – Ricki Wylie (Year 12)
3rd place – Lucas Goebel (Year 10)
4th place – Aaron Goh (Year 6)
5th place – Nic Ng (Year 8)
6th place – Jake Hashem (Year 5)
7th place – Mayowa Afolabi (Year 7)
“Despite the wet conditions, all boys competed in a well-fought race and it was a great day for the Senior School taking out 1st, 2nd and 3rd,” says Director of Sport, Anthony Lynch.
“Boys selected for the race were qualified as the fastest 100-metre runners at our recent House Athletics Carnival.”
“Based off the students’ sprint times from the Athletics Carnival there is a handicapped start according to year group, with the aim of the students each completing the race at the same time.”
“Well done to Brodie Wicks on claiming the notorious Boot Trophy and winning the CCGS Gift back to back.”
