Staff and students at Christ Church have had the pleasure this week of viewing a number of hand-crafted masterpieces currently being exhibited in our Design and Technology building.

Featuring major practical projects and portfolios of our Year 12 Materials Design and Technology students, plus a variety of products by Design and Technology students from Years 7 to 11, current items on display include;

  • an acoustic guitar skilfully hand-crafted by Nathan Tan (Year 12)
  • a 1980s style arcade machine built by Adam Sudlow (Year 12)
  • a modern looking bedside draw cabinet designed and built by Aaron Love (Year 11)
  • a beautiful and solid dining table built of Marri wood by David Jones (Year 10)

Head of Design and Technology Mr Alec Barbour said, “The wonderful items on display represent amazing talent by our boys and we are continually blown away by the creativity and skills demonstrated year on year.”

“In the lead up to this week’s exhibition, the boys have been very diligent in the handling of their personal projects, ensuring each end product is of a high standard.”

“The exhibition not only showcases the very best of student talent in Design and Technology, it highlights the growth of our students by way of skill, creativity and innovation, particularly in areas such as Engineering and Megatronics.”

All members of the school community are welcome to view the exhibition (public access from 9.00am to 3.00pm) which concludes this Friday. Click here to view this year’s Design and Technology prize winners.
