Year 4s forge new friendships at Kooringal
Published on: 5 April 2018
Over 100 of our Year 4 boys enjoyed a day at Kooringal recently, taking the opportunity to become familiar with the School’s Outdoor Education center and build new friendships.
During the visit the boys enjoyed a tour of the Kooringal facilities, a bush hunting exercise as well as a bush walk. Key highlights of the day included swimming in the Scarp Pool and sausages for lunch.
“It was a fantastic day for the Year 4s and a great introduction to Outdoor Education at Christ Church,” says Director of Kooringal, Ryan Myles.
Year 4 participant Samuel Lee said “I enjoyed Kooringal very much. Swimming in the Scarp Pool and lunch were my two favourites.”
“The boys were divided into their House groups and were encouraged throughout the day to introduce themselves to boys they had not yet met,” said Acting Years 3 and 4 Co-ordinator, Jay Pyefinch.
“The visit is designed to help the boys familiarise themselves with Kooringal, as they will be spending a significant amount of time there, and to establish new connections within the cohort.”
“It was wonderful to receive positive feedback from many participants on how they had established new friendships and were looking forward to the Year 5 Outdoor Education program.”
