Throughout this term students in our Preparatory School Peter Moyes Centre (PMC) have been taking part in weekly trampoline sessions at Lords Recreation Centre. These sessions, which are a collaboration between the PMC and Sport Department, are run each Thursday by experienced and certified gymnasts.

“For our students with Autism, trampolining is the perfect way to help their brain process and organise incoming sensory information as well as handle stress and anxiety in a safe and fun way,” says Co-ordinator of the Peter Moyes Centre, Mrs Daniela Chacon.

“Apart from being an eternal source of enjoyment, trampolining allows the students’ brain an opportunity to function bilaterally with both sides of their brain and their body working together to develop core muscles, flexibility, balance and coordination.”

This wonderful opportunity complements the comprehensive and individualised program offered to students with Special Needs at Christ Church.
