This week, the Preparatory School celebrated Access Asia Week – an event that exposes boys to the diversity of Asian cultures around the world and within the Christ Church community.
Co-ordinated by Chinese Language Teacher Li Liu and Year 2 Teacher Chantal Widdicombe, Prep School boys were involved in numerous authentic experiences promoting and celebrating Asian cultures.
“The aim of the Access Asia Week is to develop students’ knowledge and understanding of Asian societies, cultures, beliefs and environment and the connections of people of Asia, Australia and the rest of the world,” said Li Liu.
The boys enjoyed Indian cooking demonstrations, Sri-Lankan and Lion dancing, kite making, story telling and a variety of art and craft activities. They heard from numerous guest speakers and will conclude the week with a shared Indian lunch on Friday.
