Giles House swimmers break the drought

The Preparatory School’s House Swimming Carnivals were held over two days, with the Years 3 and 4 cohorts swimming on Tuesday and the Years 5 and 6 cohorts on Wednesday. Giles House led from the front, with both its sportsmanship and results in the pool, to win its first carnival in many years.
Forrest House, who was challenging for a fifth consecutive title, finished second. Dale House finished third with Stirling House in fourth position. Sportsmaster Brady Leckie said Giles’ great sportsmanship and spirit, shown throughout both carnivals, led the house to also winning the Spirit Shield. “It was great to see Giles breakthrough for its first victory in many years,” he said.
Mr Leckie said there were some amazing results with all of the Year 6A freestyle swimmers finishing in under 36 seconds for the 50m. “Overall, all boys demonstrated terrific sportsmanship over the two days,” he said.
Final results:
Giles 1,690
Forrest 1,437
Dale 1,324
Stirling 1,310
