Junior swimmers place 2nd in JPSSA Swimming Carnival
Published on: 14 March 2019
A group of our Years 4, 5 and 6 boys swam exceptionally well at the 2019 JPSSA Swimming Carnival at HBF Stadium last week. These students, selected from time trials run earlier in the year, have been diligently training every week with Bill Kirby leading up to the event.
In a tightly contested carnival, Christ Church battled fiercely with Wesley and Aquinas throughout the day. The final result came down to the last race of the day, in which Wesley finished one place ahead of our Year 6 Medley Relay team to win the overall carnival by just two points.
The final results were:
- Wesley
- Christ Church
- Aquinas
- Guildford
- Scotch
- Trinity
- Hale
Preparatory School Sportsmaster Brady Leckie said, “It was an awesome team effort, with all boys swimming so well.”
“To ensure all boys are given the opportunity to compete, boys are limited to swimming in three individual and one relay swim event in the carnival.”
“It makes it a true team effort when all of the 25 boys in the team contribute.”
