Participation and fun wins the day at PP to Year 2 Athletics Carnival

The inclement weather meant a change in venue for this year’s Pre-Primary to Year 2 Athletics Carnival on Tuesday morning. Boys, staff and even some parents took part in the carnival held undercover in the Gymnasium Precinct.
Pre-Primary to Year 3 Physical Education teacher Kim Malajczuk said the carnival was a mix of running events and fun tabloid games that boys had practiced in PE classes. All boys ran a sprint race, a hurdles race and a relay in house groups. These were followed by tabloid games, including the egg and spoon race, sack race and bean bag race.
Ms Malajczuk said the morning was about participation and trying your best. She said the boys participated with great enthusiasm and the bad weather did not dampen their spirits. “We had lots of terrific performances and plenty of cheering and spirit,” she said.
“One of the highlights was the parents versus staff egg and spoon race, where the staff were controversially disqualified! It was a terrific morning for boys, staff and parents.”
