Week 6 has commenced at a ‘good pace’ as boys from Years 2 to 6 run laps of the School’s one-kilometre running track to earn points for their respective Houses.

Led by our Year 6 Captains, the ‘Morning Running Club’ launched this week and is held every Tuesday and Thursday morning for the remainder of the term.

Boys who participate will receive House points for each lap they complete.

“The great thing about this healthy initiative is that the boys can opt in and out whenever they wish, all we ask is that they come along when they can,” says Deputy Head (Pastoral) of Preparatory School, Mrs Kim Morcom.

“Sport and fitness importantly builds strength, improves coordination and increases physical ability to keep your son healthy in body, mind and spirit.”

In addition to this initiative, lunchtime inter-house competitions commenced this week, offering boys in Years 4 to 6 opportunities to compete against one another in chess, table tennis and six-a-side soccer.

The competitions are the initiative of our Year 6 Leaders who have signed up to coordinate these events by way of coaching, umpiring and supervising.

If your son is in Years 2 to 6 and would like to participate in the Morning Running Club, please encourage him to meet in front of the Preparatory School Sports Storeroom at 8.00am on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
