Wardung House celebrates swimming success

Years 3 to 6 boys enjoyed a fun and eventful day last week as they put their swimming skills to the test at our annual House Swimming Carnival.
In 1st place, Wardung House won the swimming carnival with a solid 1st place finishing with 4978 points. Yonga House followed in 2nd with 4398 points, Karda House in 3rd with 3881 points and Kearla House in 4th with 3297 points.
Champion boys who achieved outstanding results overall for their year group were awarded as follows:
- Year 3 – Quinn Bewsher
- Year 4 – Sam Reynolds
- Year 5 – Lawson Kirby
- Year 6 – Lucas Viiala
Records broken on the day included:
- Year 3, 50m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke – Quinn Bewsher
- Year 4, 50m Backstroke and 50m Breaststroke – Sam Reynolds
- Year 5, 50m Backstroke, 50m Breaststroke and 50m Freestyle – Lawson Kirby
- Year 6, 50m Backstroke – Lucas Viiala
“All boys swam exceptionally well with many records broken this year,” commented Preparatory School Sportsmaster, Brady Leckie.
“Year 5 student Lawson Kirby even broke some records that had been in place since the 1970s!”
“For the first time, the carnival was held in Term 4 which allows swimmers to be identified ahead of the JPSSA Swimming Carnival held in Term 1.”
