Last Friday, the annual Preparatory School Sports Awards Assembly was held in the Chapel, a memorable occasion acknowledging the exceptional achievements of students in both summer and winter sports throughout the year.

The assembly was a celebration of our students’ dedication and hard work, with individuals from every year level recognised for their athletic excellence, sportsmanship, and commitment. It also showcased the wide variety of sports in which our students have excelled, from team-based sports to individual pursuits.

A standout moment was a presentation from old boy Conor Coleman (’19), who shared his inspiring journey and presented the awards. Earlier this year, Conor made history as the youngest West Australian and second youngest Australian to summit Mount Everest. His extraordinary achievement, coupled with his story of resilience and determination, captivated the audience and served as a powerful reminder to students of the remarkable heights they can reach when they pursue their goals with passion and perseverance.

Among the many deserving students, a special congratulations went to Patrick King (Year 6), who was awarded the prestigious Potter Cup as this year’s Best All-round Junior Sportsman. This award recognises Patrick’s exceptional skills and commitment across multiple sports throughout the year, cementing his status as one of the School’s top young athletes.
