Families, staff and friends gathered in the Chapel on Tuesday for an evening of eclectic musical performances by our Preparatory students.

The program featured a fantastic mix of musical pieces, including an adaption of ‘Believer’ by Imagine Dragons by our Guzheng II Ensemble, popular Harry Styles and Taylor Swift hits by the Ukelele Ensemble, classical pieces by the likes of Chopin, a solo vocal performance from the Sound of Music, vibrant songs by the Yahoos Choir, and the famous sea shanty ‘Drunken Sailor’ performed using buckets by the Percussion Ensemble. We’ll be sharing videos of the performances over the coming weeks. First up is our Classical Guitar Ensemble with ‘Rumba Flamenca’.

For our youngest students, performing on stage in front of an audience can be a daunting experience. However, as budding musicians, this opportunity allows them to embrace the reality of being a performer and showcases their efforts and talents. Most students relish their time in the spotlight, and it’s always heartwarming to see initial nerves transform into moments of joy and pride.

This event wraps up a month of music performances across the School community, including St George’s Cathedral’s ‘Concerts at One’, Ellington Jazz Night, and Rock at Rosemount.
