Our annual Springtime Celebration in the Preparatory School is in full swing, with three fantastic events over the past week.

Last Thursday evening, our young students eagerly welcomed their families to campus for Open Night, where their work, art, and creations in the Innovation Lab were on display. With the sound of student music performances at our pop-up stages filling the corridors, the ‘Teddy Bear’s Picnic’ playing as attendees walked around the Art Exhibition, and immersive activities on offer, the campus was buzzing with vibrant colours, wonderful music, and excited, proud boys pulling their parents from classroom to classroom. Those visiting the Mandarin classroom could enjoy a tea ceremony and try their hand at Chinese calligraphy. The Innovation Lab was also a hub of creative ideas in the digital space, with LEGO, interactive robotics, and 3D printed works on display, among other incredible technologies that our students learn in their Innovation Lab classes.

The following day, over 400 grandparents and grandfriends joined us for Grandparents Day, enjoying a special assembly, morning tea, and a visit to Preparatory classrooms guided by their grandson. This is always a very special day for all involved. We would like to thank our generous grandparents for their contribution to the Library Fund. These donations will add over 200 new books to our ELC and Preparatory classroom reading resources.

On Tuesday night, families, friends and staff gathered in the Chapel for the Spring Music Concert, where diverse ensembles – from Ukulele and Guzheng to Piano Duet Club and String Ensemble – delighted the audience. Some highlights included a Beatles medley performed by the Yahoos Choir, a Guitar Ensemble piece called ‘Magic Carpet’ and the Guzheng Ensemble’s ‘Amazing Grace’ and ‘Folk Song of Midu’.
