Rites of Passage

Our Year 4 students have embarked on their Little Queenslea Drive (LQD) experience, marking the beginning of a significant journey in their development. LQD is an overnight learning adventure designed to nurture essential skills such as participation, cooperation, resilience, and teamwork. Through a variety of hands-on activities and challenges, the boys will enhance their ability to collaborate effectively, adapt to new situations, and build their confidence as they embrace this exciting milestone in their school journey. LQD serves as the first stage of the Rites of Passage program, which culminates in the transformative on Queenslea Drive (OQD) Program in Year 9.
The Rites of Passage program is carefully designed to support students in becoming motivated, passionate individuals who make thoughtful, positive decisions. The program emphasises the importance of transitioning from one stage of life to another, recognising that such transitions involve changes in personal awareness and the acquisition of new behaviours and skills.
Both LQD and OQD are strategically placed at pivotal developmental stages in the lives of our students. These experiences provide crucial tools to help guide them through the challenges and changes associated with growing up, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate the various transitions they will face in their journey towards adulthood. Through these formative experiences, we aim to instill a sense of purpose, responsibility, and self-awareness that will serve them well in all aspects of their lives.
