Rowers learn about dietetics and injury management and prevention
Published on: 9 November 2022
On Monday night over 150 rowing students, parents and coaches gathered in the Senior School Staff Room for a presentation on dietetics and injury management and prevention.
Greg Kerr, current Christ Church rowing parent and state and national representative rower specialising in rowing related physio work, gave a presentation on injury management and prevention. Greg works closely with Rowing WA and affiliate organisations to ensure better education and understanding of rowing related injuries.
Paralympic triathlete David Bryant, who competed at the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics and is an accredited Advanced Sports Dietician, presented on the nutritional demands of endurance sports such as rowing. David works closely with WAIS athletes (including rowers).
The presentations were very well received by all and it was wonderful to see that a large majority of the questions were asked by the boys and were specific and engaged interest in the topics.
