The Christ Church Army Cadet Unit recently participated in a field training exercise at Stronghills Farm in the Avon Valley. The exercise was hosted by the Guildford Grammar Army Cadet Unit, with St. Hilda’s cadets also in attendance.

The cadets participated in a number of training activities, including a First Aid assessment, vehicle checkpoints, patrol planning and a navigation course. On the Monday, all cadets relocated to Irwin Barracks to conduct weapon handling training and were given a tour of the Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicle at 10th Light Horse Regiment.

Co-Ordinator of Army Cadets Duane Nurse said the field exercise was a success, commenting “It is always a pleasure observing the cadets from different schools coming together to hone their skills, enjoy the outdoors and gain new experiences.”

The next activity for the Christ Church Cadets is the WA Cadet Brigade Annual Field Exercise in the upcoming school holidays.
