A Pandas’ Picnic for our Preparatory School Chinese students
Published on: 13 July 2016
The Prep School Chinese Monitors recently represented Christ Church at the annual Pandas’ Picnic – an event organised for Western Australian students learning Chinese.
The picnic encourages students to use their Chinese language skills to communicate with students studying Chinese at other schools around Perth. The Christ Church boys built friendships, developed their knowledge of the Chinese culture and enjoyed traditional Chinese activities like jiànzi making, panda folding, gong fu and tai chi.
Ms Li Liu, Christ Church Chinese teacher said the excursion provided the boys with an entertaining and rich cultural environment, which would assist in developing their Chinese skills.
“This years Pandas Picnic was an exquisite experience, illuminating the Chinese culture throughout the education and learning of students nationally,” said Aditya Barua (Year 6).
“It was a great experience for everyone involved, a day full of fun and learning,” said Matthew Bailey (Year 6).
The Preparatory School offers a comprehensive Chinese (Mandarin) language program for all students from Pre-Primary to Year 6. To find out more, click here.
