Four Christ Church students recently represented the School at the State Mandarin Speaking Competition organised by the Chinese Language Teachers’ Association of Western Australia. The competition is open to students learning Chinese as a second language with no prior knowledge of the language.
After many weeks of rehearsing, the boys spoke to the audience about their love of Chinese food, cute pets, grandma spending time watching cartoons with their little sister at home and dad taking his boat out to escape a noisy family.
Aditya Muthukattu (Year 7) and Scott Caporn (Year 8) were both awarded third place for their divisions.
“We are extremely proud of our boys for the efforts they put in and we thank parents for their support,” said Xiaoyang Zhang, CCGS Chinese Teacher.
