Last Friday the Christ Church Army Cadet training year culminated in the annual Principal’s Parade, celebrating what has been a year filled with individual and collective achievement.

Supported by 51 ACU Swan Regiment drums and pipes, the occasion was joined by members of the school community and distinguished guests.

The Regimental Dining-In Night followed, a formal opportunity to acknowledge and farewell our graduating Year 12 Cadets. On the night, Cadet Warrant Officer Class 2 Nicholas Patrikeos was presented with the Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork Award.

Major Duane Nurse, Co-ordinator of Army Cadets at Christ Church said, “The Principal’s Parade was extremely well executed under the command of Cadet Under Officer Matthew Darley.”

“The parade is steeped in tradition and is held to recognise both individual and collective award winners.”

“The dinner was a convivial occasion which brings together the boys, their families, Christ Church and Defence communities, consolidating a strong working relationship in which we build upon our collective success.”

“Thank you to Deputy Principal, Head of Senior School, Mr Simon Angus who was the reviewing officer for the parade.”

The unit looks forward to running the Junior Leaders Course this December which will prepare leaders for an exciting 2020 training year. 2020 will mark the 83rd consecutive year of Army Cadets at Christ Church Grammar School.
