Year 12s honoured at final assembly
Published on: 31 October 2019
Last week celebrated the end of an era for nearly 200 Year 12 students as they completed their formal schooling at Christ Church Grammar School.
A special assembly, joined by parents, special guests and staff, was held to honour the students and all they have achieved throughout their time at school. This included a guard of honour as the students were warmly welcomed into the Chapel.
Outgoing Captain of School Patrick Mahony and Principal Alan Jones opened the service before all prize and award winners for 2019 were formally announced.
Hamish Jolly, Christ Church old boy, member of School Council, former President of the Old Boys’ Association and current parent was this year’s guest speaker, sharing his personal journey since graduating from Christ Church and the adventures he has embarked on since that time. Hamish encouraged the boys to embrace the great unchartered journey using the moral compass that their schooling has provided them.
Concluding the service, outgoing leaders Patrick Mahony and Richard Paganin congratulated incoming Captain of School, Isaac Yeo and Vice Captain of School, Jason Lu as they take on the reigns for 2020.
