Our Year 7 to 12 Christ Church mathematicians have shown their strength at this year’s Mathematics Association of WA’s Have Sum Fun competition. Held in March each year, the competition sees students from around the State gather for two nights of fun and engaging mathematical problem solving.
Having entered teams in the Lower (Years 7 and 8), Middle (Years 9 and 10) and Upper (Years 11 and 12) Secondary divisions, Christ Church took out first place in both the Middle and Upper divisions.
Head of Mathematics, Mr Khee Lim said atmosphere at the completions was electrifying, with students racing against the clock to solve some very challenging problems.
“Our boys were energized, demonstrated excellent teamwork skills, and showed great concentration right to the last minute,” he said.
“We have a great Mathematics program at Christ Church, with some very keen and talented students and we look forward to another successful year of mathematical whizzing.”
