Queenslea claims victory at House Swimming Carnival

The highly anticipated Senior School House Swimming Carnival took place at Perth HPC on Tuesday evening. After 30 years, Queenslea House emerged victorious with a dominant 753 points. They finished ahead of Moyes (714), Romsey (680.5), Wolsey (661), Jupp (602.5), Craigie (601), Hill (571.5), and Noake (521.5).
The atmosphere was electric as students pushed themselves in the pool, while spectators cheered passionately from the stands. It was an unforgettable evening of fierce competition and community spirit.
Four school swimming records were broken:
- Charlie Spencer (Year 11) set a new 100m Backstroke record with a time of 1:04.37, beating the previous record by staggering 8.85 seconds
- Sam Hicks (Year 12) won the 50m Backstroke in 26.80 seconds, breaking a 38-year-old record by 2.62 seconds
- Moyes House set a new Year 11 4x50m relay record at 1:48.05
- Wolsey House set a new Year 12 4x50m relay record at 1:45.11
Next Monday, the swim team will compete in the QUADS Swim Meet against Scotch, Wesley, and Trinity. This will help swimmers refine their skills before the PSA Inters on Thursday 13 March, both hosted at Perth HPC. We look forward to seeing our athletes in action!
