Our Year 11s were at St George’s College this week for inspiration as they prepare themselves for the academic challenges ahead.

A total of 194 boys attended presentations including:

  • Heads of Departments/Subjects discussing their areas of expertise.
  • Discussions on effective study habits and subject-specific advice.
  • School psychologists, health and wellbeing experts and guest speakers presenting on everything from setting up your workspace to referencing and plagiarism.
  • Old boys James Hill (’05) and David Cowan (’00) sharing their pursuits in Parkinson’s Disease research and music and song writing, respectively.

“The boys enjoy seeing a different perspective for a day,” says Director of Studies, Mahendra Vaswani.

“The college itself is situated within sight of UWA, where a lot of boys have their eyes set on after Year 12. The change of scenery is refreshing and it allows the students to gain a deeper understanding of the topics talked about in the various presentations.”

“The combination of familiar faces and external speakers makes the day a powerful and worthwhile experience, and the presentation resources made available to parents and students the day after is always very helpful for study in Years 11 and 12.”

We wish to thank everyone who contributed to the day’s success.
