CCGS young philanthropists

The spirit of giving to others – be it with time, talent or treasure – is an important life lesson.
This year, the Year 10 boys took part in the Young Philanthropist Initiative. They were tasked with actively identifying, comparing, evaluating and presenting a case for why their chosen charity was worthy of a $5000 donation.
The boys first step was to identify two charities they wanted to research. Following their research, the boys selected the charity they wanted to nominate for the $5000 donation and prepared a 2 minute presentation for their House groups. The most deserving charities were then selected to represent the House in the final.
Noake won, presenting a compelling case for why the Australian Childhood Foundation should receive a $5000 donation from the School. Timothy Chapman, Maneesh Kelly, Cain Leaman, Mac Maslen, Luke Lumsden and Keaton Wright were members of the successful team.
When presenting the donation to Shaun Chandran, the WA representative of the Australian Childhood Foundation, Timothy said, “Our chosen charity is dedicated to giving children a ‘childhood that is safe and free from harm,’ something every child deserves.”
Mr Chandran thanked the boys and the School for their generous donation.
