Senior boys launch The Students’ Scholarship
Published on: 9 May 2019
‘By the boys, for the boys’ is the motto underpinning a new scholarship launched by our Senior School boys.
As part of their student-led campaign, the boys raised funds to support a scholarship for a boy commencing in Year 10 who would otherwise not have the opportunity to be a Christ Church student.
“In giving, the boys receive a valuable lesson in what the impact of philanthropy can do to transform lives,” says Director of Philanthropy, Carolyn Turner.
“The boys promoted a number of incentives to get as many comrades to join the campaign.”
“Prizes for the tutorial group with the highest number of boys giving included shoe shining by the Prefect group and a ‘golden ticket’ allowing them to jump the queue in the Refectory.”
“The Students’ Scholarship recipient will be afforded the gift of a Christ Church education and have the full support of our academic, pastoral and co-curricular program like any other student at the School.”
If you would like to help our boys with providing a three-year scholarship from 2020, please donate here (select CCGS Bursary and Scholarship Fund).
The successful scholarship recipient will commence at the School in 2020 and continue their education into Years 11 and 12. Click here for further information on The Students’ Scholarship.
