Craigie retains Akos Kovac Shield

Over 1100 Senior School boys competed in the 2017 House Athletics Carnival held at the WA Athletics Stadium last Thursday. The carnival saw Craigie House retain the Akos Kovac Shield for the second year in a row with 1993 points.
Final House points were as follows:
2nd place – Jupp House with 1870 points
3rd place – Queenslea House with 1851 points
4th place – Moyes House with 1849 points
5th place – Romsey House with 1839 points
6th place – Noake House with 1753 points
7th place – Wolsey House with 1723 points
8th place – Hill House with 1610 points
“This year, Craigie House made it back to back Athletics titles following their win in 2016. The House Athletics Carnival was fantastic preparation for our best track and field athletes as we near the PSA Quads and Inters competitions in Weeks 7 and 8 of Term 3,” says Director of Sport, Mr Anthony Lynch.

– Parker Robinson (Romsey) breaking the U14 400m school record in a time of 55.73sec
– Hamish Brogan (Noake) and Nicholas Tomlinson (Moyes), joint winners of U13 Henderson Cup and Parker Robinson (Romsey) winner of U14 Lattice Cup
– Ari Barboutis (Queenslea) and Lucas Goebel (Wolsey) joint winners of U15 Carter Cup, and to Noah Keleman winner of the U16 Maclaren Cup
– Riki Wylie (Noake) winner of U17 Bowers Cup and Ben Baxter (Jupp) winner of the Open Jennings Cup
– Callum Lindsay winning the Staff Cup (winner of Open 100m)
– Lewis Henry winning the RG Lynn Cup (Open 200m)
– Jia-Wei Low winning the TM Thompson Cup (Open jumps champion)
– Nicholas Thompson winning the EB Kirby Cup (Open distance champion)
– Ben Gerrard winning the Shirley family Cup (Open throws champion)
