Year 11 student Geremy Fatouros set a new Christ Church record at the weekend after scoring 200 runs not out against Aquinas in Round 6 of the 2014 Darlot Cup. Geremy becomes just the 10th person in Darlot Cup history to score a double century. It is also the fifth biggest partnership in Darlot Cup history by any school.

Geremy’s double century replaces Ashton Turner’s (Class of 2010) previous record of 180 set in 2010. Ashton went on to make his first-class debut for Australia in 2013 and has played for the Perth Scorchers and Western Warriors. He was also an assistant coach in the lower school at the start of the year.

Geremy scored 200 from 180 balls including 30 ones, 14 twos, 2 threes and 34 fours. The first wicket partnership of 269, with Ishan Rambal (Year 11), also sets the school record for the biggest partnership. To cap off an amazing performance, Geremy also took the last wicket of the day on the last ball of the day.

Christ Church’s win (2/324) against Aquinas (10/198) on Saturday means the Firsts are in contention to win the Darlot Cup competition with one match against Guildford to play this Saturday. The Firsts game starts at 9.45am at Roberts Oval at Guildford Grammar School.
